Counselors play a vital role in communicating the qualities and life story of a student to college admissions offices. In this course, you, as a counselor, will learn what colleges want to know from you about students, and how to effectively communicate those ideas in a counselor letter. Improve your writing process through resources and examples to increase your efficiency and make your counselor recommendation letters stand out to admissions representatives. This course is part of the College Counseling series.

In this course, you will:

  • Comprehend the key elements of an effective counselor letter as part of a college application,
  • Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of college letters used in case studies, and
  • Apply fundamental concepts of writing a strong college letter by developing several letters as case studies.
