Run, Hide, Fight

It is an unfortunate reality that there is growing concern surrounding active shooter incidents in recent years. Although rare, these events can be unpredictable and chaotic making preparedness difficult. This proactive course teaches prevention and response to workplace violence with the Run, Hide, Fight method recommended by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). With a ‘whole community’ approach, you will learn how to react in an active shooter event and how to address concerns such as first aid and communicating with first responders.

In this course, you will:

  • Identify key elements of the Run, Hide, Fight program to prepare for an active shooter situation,
  • Learn how to handle important secondary concerns such as basic first aid and how to react to first responders, and
  • Practice the fundamentals of the Run, Hide, Fight method in an interactive virtual office setting.
