PTL: Module 1

School leaders will want to foster a school environment that is representative of and supports all learners. This course will help you understand the role of school culture and how you as an educational leader influence a positive school learning environment. You will gain a deeper understanding of how issues such as race, culture, economic status, ELL, and LGBTQ can impact your overall school culture and your role in ensuring equity for all students and staff you serve in this course, you will:

 
  • Describe and record the different demographics of your school
  • Identify policies or procedures in your school that might be a hindrance to inclusiveness
  • Apply evidence-based school leadership practices to transform school culture, and build organizational and instructional capacities
  • Create an action plan for your school that highlights steps to take to shape and maintain a culture of diversity and inclusion.
