Individual education programs — commonly called “IEPs” — are critical to ensuring that students with disabilities have access to a free and appropriate public education. Created with the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) Office of Special Education (OSE), this course explores the procedural and substantive aspects of writing IEPs that are both compliant with the law and meaningful to individual students with disabilities. You will learn the ins and outs of drafting an IEP, assembling an IEP team, and supporting students with a plan tailored to their individual needs.
