The course is an interactive exploration of topics surrounding personal health and wellness. The focus of the course is to help students think deeply about issues and also to locate resources should the need for them ever arise. The final exam for this course requires a password which the teacher will email to mentors the last few weeks of the course, or sooner upon request.The CPR / AED module fulfills state requirements for delivery of instruction in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillators (AED). This module is conducted through the National CPR Foundation whose coursework and certification follow the guidelines of the American Heart Association and the Emergency Cardiac Care (ECC)/International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR). Schools or programs that provide 100% online instruction are exempt from the hands-on psychomotor skills component of the Health Education standards associated with this module. However, schools enrolling students should reference their school policies as to whether students who complete the CPR / AED lessons should still participate in the hands-on experience events conducted locally for their other students.
