While we can’t control when life-threatening emergencies happen in a workplace or school, being prepared can minimize property damage and greatly reduce the chances of serious injuries or death. This course will give an overview to school employees of what they should do in the case of an emergency in the workplace. You will ready yourself for common incidents that can threaten a school or workplace including tornadoes, fires, floods, or chemical spills.
In this course, you will:
- Review how to respond to common emergencies you might encounter at work and how to determine your role in an emergency action plan,
- Identify procedures to follow during emergencies, including medical emergencies, as well as how to find procedures specific to your workplace, and
- Recognize how to safely evacuate a situation to protect yourself and bystanders.
