Discrimination in the Workplace

Hiring and firing school employees based on protected categories such as religion, race, sex, or disability is illegal like in any workplace. This awareness-level course will help you determine how to avoid discrimination in your employment practices, help you protect yourself from becoming a victim of discrimination, and help foster a healthy and safe work environment. You will come to understand various Acts under the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and find out what your workplace’s responsibilities are when it comes to educating staff on discrimination and sexual harassment.

In this course, you will:

  • Define discrimination in the work place based on sex, disability, race, religion, age, genetic make up etc.,
  • Understand laws put into effect to counter discrimination,
  • Compare scenarios and examples of discrimination for your reference, and
  • Learn about zero tolerence policies and your supervisors’ responsibilities when it comes to discrimination or sexual assult.
