Curriculum & Course Content Policy
Michigan Virtual is a course provider selected by your school or district. We work closely with schools to support students, and enrollment decisions that are made in partnership with your school.
Our courses are built to meet state content standards required for graduation (alignment documentation available in the course syllabus). The technology used to host our course structure does not allow removing or hiding content for individual students. This is a technical and structural limitation, not a case-by-case decision. Students may choose not to engage with specific content, but the content itself remains part of the course as designed.
We work with schools and families to provide individual support when there is a documented need. This support does not involve removing or hiding course content but may include other options.
Due to copyright restrictions, we are not able to provide parents or guardians with direct access to course content. Parents are encouraged to view course content alongside their student while their student is logged into their own account.
If you have concerns about specific curriculum content, we encourage you to contact your school directly. Schools have options for addressing individual concerns, including alternative course selections.
A note on grades: Michigan Virtual issues a score to the enroller based on completed coursework. We do not issue grades. Schools determine how that score factors into a student’s official transcript grade, which is within their discretion. Schools may follow their own local policies when determining grades for online courses.
