About This Course
Research continues to validate the importance of quality district leadership for high student achievement. This course, specifically developed for new or aspiring curriculum and instruction leaders in today's school, focuses on the issues, resources, and skills you need to keep your district ahead of the curve in student success. Through a series of workshops and working closely with a mentor in the field of curriculum and instruction, you will explore topics in change and leadership, systems of continuous improvement, guaranteed and viable curriculum, and balanced assessment.
In this course, you will:
- Apply frameworks to assist in implementing personal and systemic change,
- Identify the five processes of continuous improvement for schools,
- Understand what constitutes as guaranteed and viable curriculum
- Evaluate the quality of assessments in your district and how to improve them if necessary, and
- Earn SCECHs as you work toward a Specialty - District Level Curriculum & Instruction Enhancement, and become a leader in your field.
