Many educators are aware that there are logistical reasons to design coursework around blended learning, but may not have given much thought to other benefits it can provide for students. Throughout this explorative course, you will discover your own ‘Why’ behind the deliberate decisions and actions involved in designing blended lessons for students. You will begin by learning about the blended pathway to personalization. You will then be introduced to instructional design models to help you create blended experiences for your students as well as tools to help you manage an online community.
In this course, you will:
- Discover how blended learning can be a vehicle towards personalized learning,
- Understand, using Merrill’s Principles, the difference between instructional design and lesson planning,
- Identify a learning management system (LMS) to use in order to create an online learning community, and
- Design a blended unit for your own classroom.
