Michigan Ongoing Health & Safety Training Refresher 2023

All childcare providers in Michigan (licensed and license-exempt) must complete an annual health and safety refresher training. Created with the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) and Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA), this course focuses on best practices around health and safety topics for the childcare environment.

In this course, you will:

  • Examine the primary reasons childcare providers need to administer medications.
  • Learn about prevention and responses to emergencies due to food & allergic reactions.
  • Understand best practices to prevent and control Infectious diseases, including the role of Immunizations.
  • Understand the best practices for handling & storage of hazardous materials & appropriate disposal of bio-contaminants.
