Implementing high quality and balanced assessments for your district is an imperative responsibility for administrators and educators. This course describes the components of a balanced assessment system including assessment for and of learning based on the Assessment Literacy Standards guidelines. You will be asked to describe the uses of different types of assessments and explain the criteria for a comprehensive, coherent, and balanced assessment plan.
In this course, you will:
- Understand key concepts and criteria for choosing high quality and balanced assessments,
- Analyze video tutorial of a real school district’s action plan for implementing balanced assessments, and
- Develop the beginnings of a district-wide assessment plan.
