Leadership

Leadership skills are an important aspect for a career in education, whether that means being a positive leader for students or leading discussions that affect policy and school-related decisions. This exploratory course will help you to understand leadership as a concept in everyday life and throughout history as well as how to gain the techniques needed to become an effective leader yourself. You will come to appreciate different views about leadership and develop strategies that will allow you to enjoy success and more control over your future.

In this course, you will:

  • Evaluate your current leadership skills through self-assessment and determine in what ways you want to improve,
  • Study the actions of successful leaders and ideas of thinkers on the subject to determine how to inspire and lead others, and
  • Communicate and share thoughts and experiences with classmates to further examine the complex subject of leadership.
