Hazardous Waste Awareness (RCRA)

If you are working with hazardous materials, not disposing of waste properly could result in a hefty fine, in addition to potentially causing environmental damage. This informative course aims to inform you of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) stringent rules for working with, storing, transporting, and disposing of hazardous waste. You will study the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and how it relates to your job duties.

In this course, you will:

  • Learn about the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA),
  • Define the different types of waste laid out by RCRA and the four hazardous waste characteristics, and
  • Identify fundamental components in a hazardous waste management plan.
