General Safety Orientation

Safety is important in the workplace, especially at a school facility, and individual employees play a vital role in ensuring their workplace is safe. In this awareness-level course, you will learn your part in preventing injuries by knowing how and where to look for potential hazards and how to react to them appropriately. You will be trained on OSHA’s role in promoting safety and health programs and general emergency preparation and reaction strategies.

In this course, you will:

  • Identify the importance of safety and health code plans,
  • Recognize common workplace injuries and hazards,
  • Understand the hierarchy of workplace safety controls, and
  • Summarize general emergency preparation and reaction strategies.
