Emergency Action Plans for Office Employees

Many office and school facilities are required to have a written emergency action plan and must train employees on that plan. However, those plans can be long and detailed, covering many different types of emergencies, making it difficult for you to understand every procedure or your individual role. This awareness-level course will help simplify these policies by providing an overview of emergency action plans and standard procedures you, as a school employee, should know. You will become prepared to confront situations including natural disasters, electrical blackouts, and hostile people.

In this course, you will:

  • Recognize the common types of alarm signals and what they mean,
  • Identify the steps to follow during an emergency evacuation,
  • Review the proper circumstances and methods for using a fire extinguisher, and
  • Learn how to react correctly in extreme situations like tornadoes, hostile person incidents or bomb threats.
