Shay is a graduate of Michigan State University in public policy, with a focus on urban redevelopment. Upon graduation, Shay had the opportunity to work at the Spartan Innovations’ startup incubator for three years in East Lansing. The experience led him to work on several exciting “lean startup” projects. Shay’s core passion remains in law and public policy. However, being a part of an innovative organization such as Michigan Virtual gives him immense satisfaction. Shay strongly believes that technology startups are soon going to disrupt several traditional public-interest industries, including K-12 education. Outside of work, Shay enjoys playing squash, studying orcas, watching cricket and reading nonfiction.
